1. Family: Deacon Mike is married to Angel McGrady and they have three adult children, Kayla, Stefanie, and Mike Jr. and two grandchildren, Sophia and Lawson.  

2. Hometown & Education: He was born in Canton, Ohio.  After High School, Deacon Mike joined the United States Air Force and served 20 years, retiring in 2007.  He was ordained to the Permanent Deaconate in 2012.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Training and Education from Wayland Baptist University.  Additionally, he has three Master’s of Art: Public Administration from Midwestern State University, Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University, and Theology from the Augustine Institute.  He is also trained and certified in Ignatian spirituality through the Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality.

3. Favorite part of your job: Deacon Mike’s favorite part of the job is helping educate and prepare children and adults to receive the sacraments.  

4. Favorite part of being Catholic: His favorite part of being Catholic is serving and praying at the Liturgy.  

5. Hobbies: His hobbies include gardening and camping.  

6. Favorite Music/Food: He enjoys many music genres. His favorite food is anything that his wife prepares.  

7. Fun Fact: He enjoys motorcycle riding through the Colorado Rockies.  

8. Dream for St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish: Deacon Mike’s dream for Saint Gabriel is to continue growing a prayerful and robust catechetical ministry team.
