1. Your family: We are the Thornbery’s: Brian, Christina, Paige & Miles. Our family is Super Catholic (as my son would describe us). We are also Playful, Prayerful and Peart! It’s a description that is in our living room. Our family scripture verse is Romans 12:10. Brian and I are blessed with 2 amazing children who are is high school. The rest of our relatives are all in Texas.
2. Hometown & Education: I grew up in EL Paso TX, moved here 22 years ago and joined our parish in 2005. I have a BA from UTEP.
3. Favorite part of your job: Love when my job allows me to be creative. Developing new events for the first time! Some of the most fun I have had was collaborating with the Christian Marriage Encounter Ministry, St. Joseph feast day, and setting up the table. I love researching why we have the traditions we do. Also collaborating with other Catholics on fire!
4. Favorite part of being Catholic: All of it, sacraments, if you make me pick one! When it all comes together, Truth Beauty and Goodness speaks to my heart.
5. Hobbies: I love learning about my faith. You can never learn it all and be done, I love diving down the rabbit hole in search of deeper knowledge. A couple of years ago I came across Memento Mori. It’s currently my new favorite salutation.
6. Favorite Food / Favorite Song: Pizza, but that changes all the time! I currently have Tasha Layton's song "Look what you've done" on repeat.
7. Fun Fact: I love to bring music to anything related to our faith. My hope is to have a worship and adoration service for teens and that it is packed to the rafters!
8. Dream for St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish: I would like for our parish to become a beacon for all. All families look towards the church first for any activities vs the secular world. That we have so many opportunities for youth to be involved at church for Young adults to make this their meeting place. We become on fire as a parish, and we have so many families living liturgically and moving towards God. That our parish is the center of their lives. Living out their faith.
